Trust in Nuclear

Iran says it is for research purposes. The world at large thinks otherwise. But that is not the point at all, is it? An independent party, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), has deemed it important to put seals on Iran's nuclear facilities. IAEA's objectives are to promote the peaceful use of nuclear energy while inhibiting its use for military purposes.

While Iran claims to continue its nuclear studies for peaceful purposes, trust, unfortunately, is hard to come by. Establishing trust is not the easiest thing to do. And this being not the first time that seals by IAEA were removed, has made it all the more difficult to trust the country. Double-standard or no, the IAEA seals were there for a reason. And removing them before the right time only serves to fuel speculation. And abandoning the chance to explain their actions, does not help the situation at all.

Granted, Iran maintained a suspension at a uranium enrichment plant. I hope they maintain their stance in researching nuclear energy to improve people's lives. Be the first to market the technology and you'll be on your way to improving the country's standard of living.

God Hates Peace

This is old news. Nevertheless, everytime I read it, I still find it disturbing that Pat Robertson made such comments in front of an audience of Christians. Does God condamn actions that lead to peace? Why does a representative of God view 'God's land' as a territory that was divided? Is forgiveness not somewhere in the equation at all? Is one person's efforts in obtaining peace in vain? Are we all not the same - God's creations? Is the earth not borderless with only us humans the ones drawing the lines dividing territories?

I say hope for peace. And hope for good health too to all who does good - including those who pursue peace, through means unconventional but not against the laws of God.

Religious Irony

Yet again, the holy site is visited by tragedy. Of nobody's fault, to be sure, except every visitor's faith and devotion. It simply feels weird to question God the reasons for this to happen when it is done in His honor. Somehow it seems like treachery to ask such a question. Here we have people performing rites in His honor and there we have hundreds of people dying from it.

Such irony.
